
SRINAGAR, APRIL 4: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday inaugurated the much-awaited Almond Bloom Festival-2025 at the picturesque Badamwari (Almond Alcove) in Srinagar’s historic old city, marking the grand arrival of spring in the Kashmir Valley.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “With blossoms in full glory, their fragrance fills every corner, marking the arrival of spring in Kashmir. This festival is not just a celebration of nature’s beauty but also an effort to boost tourism and promote our cultural heritage.”
The colorful event was organized by the Tourism Department in collaboration with the Floriculture Department and saw enthusiastic participation from senior government officials, artists, students, tourists, and locals alike.
Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Minister of Transport Satish Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director Floriculture, Director Tourism, and several others.
A major highlight of the festival was a grand cultural and musical show featuring captivating performances by renowned Kashmiri artists. The soulful melodies and traditional rhythms added a magical touch to the blooming surroundings of Badamwari.
The festival also offered a glimpse into the Valley’s rich cultural legacy with folk performances, handicraft exhibitions, and traditional stalls displaying exquisite Kashmiri crafts, providing visitors a wholesome cultural experience amidst nature’s beauty.
