
Srinagar, March 12 (BANN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, chaired a meeting of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee at the DC Office Complex to review the progress of Aadhaar enrollment and its saturation in the district.
During the meeting, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was given, highlighting the status of Aadhaar enrollment, population coverage, and the operation of designated enrollment centers across Srinagar. The review also covered registration facilities at schools, Anganwadi centers, and health institutions, along with updates on age-wise enrollment, particularly for children under five years and individuals requiring Aadhaar updates after ten years.
Dr. Bilal directed officials to accelerate the enrollment process for the remaining population and ensure that all designated Aadhaar enrollment centers in hospitals, banks, ICDS centers, and other departments are fully operational. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to citizens at their doorsteps to facilitate Aadhaar registration, enabling them to access various government schemes and benefits.
A detailed report on Aadhaar enrollment progress was sought, with a special focus on children aged 0 to 5 years, as well as updates on the enrollment status of individuals aged 5 to 18 years and those above 18 years.
The DC urged officers to work with dedication to achieve full Aadhaar saturation in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Khalid Husain Malik, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Aijaz Ahmad Shah, Chief Education Officer Shabina, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Mohammad Ismail Bangroo, Assistant Director FCS&CA, representatives from UIDAI, District Coordinator CSC E-Governance, and other concerned officials.
