Budgam , October 14, 2024, Budgam: As part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan,’ the Department of Social Welfare Budgam held a series of awareness programs on drug abuse across various educational institutions. Hundreds of students and staff members actively participated in these events, which aimed to educate the youth about the dangers of drug addiction and encourage efforts to protect society from this growing issue.
During the events, speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drug use, its sources, causes, and consequences, and the critical role every individual in the community must play in eradicating this threat. Students were urged to stay away from drugs and engage in sports, as physical activities can act as a safeguard against falling into addiction.
Participants were also encouraged to stand firm in the fight against drug abuse and were advised to report any information about illegal drug supply in their localities to authorities.
