Srinagar oct, 29 (BANN): In a recent meeting, the National Child Development Council (NCDC) highlighted significant worries regarding the decline of social values in contemporary society. The session, led by NCDC Master Trainer Baba Alexander, centered on the rising individualism and diminishing empathy among individuals.

During the discussions, committee members observed that many people have become increasingly self-absorbed, often overlooking the needs and concerns of others. They stressed the necessity of nurturing a culture of compassion and community involvement.

One core committee member suggested that schools could play a pivotal role in promoting social values by encouraging all students to participate in initiatives like the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Such engagement, they argued, would help develop a sense of responsibility and social awareness in young people.Another member proposed that educational institutions should facilitate social work events and programs, actively involving students in addressing societal issues.

This approach would empower children to become advocates for change, equipping them with the skills needed to tackle challenges in their communities.

The NCDC is a self-regulating national body committed to advancing women’s rights and ensuring child education throughout India.__BANN
