
Srinagar, Jan 12:The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) will announce the results of Class 10th and Class 12th examinations on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
The announcement was confirmed by Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo.In an exclusive interaction, the Education Minister said the government has decided to declare the results of both classes on the same day to end the long wait for students and parents. She said the delay had caused anxiety among students, prompting the government to fast-track the process.“We understand the concerns of students who have been waiting for their results. Therefore, we decided to declare the results of both Class 10th and Class 12th on Wednesday,” Sakina Itoo said.
The minister informed that the Result Declaration Committee (RDC) meeting will be convened by the Secretary JKBOSE, with members including the Director School Education of both Kashmir and Jammu divisions, along with joint secretaries.
She added that administrative approval for the results will be granted directly, instead of routing it through the chairman’s office.The move comes at a time when the post of JKBOSE Chairman has remained vacant for nearly a year.
Addressing this issue, the Education Minister assured that the appointment of a permanent chairman will be taken up immediately after the declaration of results.“Once the results are announced, the process to appoint a permanent chairman for JKBOSE will also be completed,” she said.
Meanwhile, an official from JKBOSE said that the Class 10th results will be declared in the morning hours on Wednesday, while the Class 12th results will follow later in the afternoon.
Earlier, several reports had highlighted the delay in the appointment of the JKBOSE chairman and its impact on result declaration. Media outlets had repeatedly drawn attention to the issue, urging timely action.
According to official data, a total of 94,783 students appeared for the Class 10th examination this year. This includes 68,804 students from Kashmir division, 25,224 students from winter zone areas of Jammu division, 660 students from Kargil, and 95 students from Leh district.For higher classes, around 81,622 students registered for the Class 11th examination, including 64,001 students from Jammu division and 17,621 from winter zone areas.
Meanwhile, 70,117 students appeared for the Class 12th examination, with 56,423 from Kashmir division and 13,694 from winter zone areas of Jammu.The Class 12th examinations began on November 8, 2025, while the Class 11th exams commenced on November 19, 2025.With the announcement now official, thousands of students across Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly awaiting Wednesday for the long-anticipated results.
