Cold Wave Grips Kashmir: Srinagar Records Season’s Coldest Night

Srinagar, Dec 20 (BANN): The Kashmir Valley is experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting to the lowest of the season in several areas. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded its coldest night so far at minus 6.2 degrees Celsius.The cold wave has tightened its grip across the region, affecting daily life and freezing water bodies. According to Kashmir weather, other notable temperature lows include:- Gulmarg: -6.0°C- Pahalgam: -8.2°C- Shopian: -10.0°C- Qazigund: -7.6°C- Kupwara: -6.5°C- Kokernag: -5.8°CThe famous ski resort of Gulmarg and the tourist destination of Pahalgam are among the areas experiencing significant drops in temperature. Shopian in South Kashmir recorded the lowest temperature at minus 10.0 degrees Celsius.The Meteorological Department has predicted that the cold wave will continue, with no major weather activity expected until December 31st.
