Motorcyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run Incident at Batamaloo, Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 28: A man lost his life after receiving critical head injuries in a hit-and-run accident near the old bus stand in Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Thursday, officials said.

According to officials, the victim was riding a motorcycle (registration number JK01 AD 7021) when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that sped away after the collision.Locals immediately rushed the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.The deceased has been identified as Farooq Ahmed Bhat, son of Sunaullah Bhat, hailing from Khawaja Pora locality of Nowgam, Srinagar.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation. The vehicle involved is yet to be traced, officials added.—BANN
