Pulwama, January 16: The District Administration of Pulwama hosted a special ceremony to honor the J&K Floorball Team for securing the position of first runners-up in the 18th Floorball National Championship.
At the event, certificates of appreciation, mementos, and cash rewards were presented to the players, recognizing their exceptional performance and dedication to the sport.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, congratulated the athletes, their parents, and school principals who attended the program. He praised the team’s dedication and hard work, which has brought immense pride to the district.
In his address, Dr. Qayoom encouraged students to actively participate in extracurricular activities alongside their studies. He commended the J&K Floorball Team for their achievements and emphasized the need to nurture local talent to compete at state and national levels.
He further called upon school principals to identify and support promising young talents in their institutions, assuring them of the district administration’s full backing to help these students achieve success.
