Srinagar, January 07: Acting on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, a team from the District Administration visited Bahauddin Sahib Nowhatta to assist families affected by a fire that damaged their homes early Tuesday morning.
To provide immediate relief, the Deputy Commissioner sanctioned aid, which was distributed by the visiting team. Each affected family received blankets along with a financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 as interim relief from the District Red Cross Fund. The team expressed their condolences to the families for the loss of their property and assured them of further support.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed officials to evaluate the damages and prepare a detailed report. This assessment will facilitate structure-wise financial assistance under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the affected households.
