
PULWAMA, JANUARY 25 (BANN): Following the directives of the Legal Services Authority of J&K, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama organized an awareness program on the occasion of ‘National Girl Child Day.’ The event, held in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office Pulwama, took place at Circuit House Pulwama.
The program was chaired by Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, Special Judge NDPS and Chairman of DLSA Pulwama (Principal District & Sessions Judge), under the guidance of Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Pulwama.
During the event, Advocate M. Sameer Yatoo, the main resource person from DLSA Pulwama, highlighted various schemes for the welfare of girl children and discussed their legal rights, including protection against discrimination, child marriage, and violence.
Additionally, Advocate Waheeda Anjum emphasized the importance of educating girls and shed light on the societal challenges they face in India. She stressed the need for equal opportunities in education, healthcare, and nutrition to bridge the gender gap.
A similar awareness initiative was conducted at the Sub District Hospital Tral in association with TLSC Tral.
The programs were attended by Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) from Pulwama and staff members of the District Social Welfare Office.
