New Delhi – The central government has launched a new Aadhaar mobile app to make verification easier and more secure. With this app, people no longer need to carry physical Aadhaar cards or submit photocopies.
Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the app in Delhi, saying it will help people verify and share their Aadhaar details digitally, using just their smartphones.
The app uses Face ID for authentication, making the process safe and smooth. Aadhaar can now be verified by simply scanning a QR code, just like a UPI payment.
“This app gives users full control over their data. They can share only what’s needed, and only with their consent,” the minister said in a video message on social media.
Now, there’s no need to hand over photocopies of Aadhaar at hotels, shops, airports, or other places.
The app is currently in beta testing and has been built with strong privacy features to prevent misuse or tampering of Aadhaar details.
The minister also spoke about the importance of digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital public infrastructure in shaping India’s future.
