SVEEP Awareness programme held at GCW Udhampur

 UDHAMPUR, MARCH 12: SVEEP Cell of Government College for Women, Udhampur today organised an awareness Programme on SVEEP in collaboration with Electoral Cell District Office Udhampur, under the supervision of District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai and Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Anirudh Rai.

 The event featured varied activities including Nukkad Natak, Motivational Speeches by students, Poetry recitation, Patriotic songs and dance performances and Tug of War. The purpose of organising these activities was to emphasise the value of voting, how to make informed choices, and understanding of electoral process. The programme was organised by keeping into consideration, the general elections 2024 .

 The programme began with the welcome address by Prof. Swarna Devi, Nodal Officer of the SVEEP GCW Udhampur. She inspired the students especially the new voters for casting their vote with full zeal and by sacrificing their personal interests and by ignoring caste, religion, region, etc. factors while casting their votes.

 Prof. Nalini Pathania, Principal of the college, in her speech, congratulated the students for their active participation and appreciated the efforts of the SVEEP Nodal Officer and members for organising the wonderful awareness programme. Prof. Shama Rani, District Core Committee, Udhampur member and NSS PO of the college also spoke on the occasion and inspired the students through her kind words.

Dr. Preeti Sharma, District Panchayat Officer (DPO) and Atul Rasyal, SVEEP Nodal Officer and a team of artists were amongst the guests from the DC Office, Udhampur. Dr. Preeti and  Atul Rasyal motivated the students for casting their votes in the upcoming elections in the district through their motivational speeches. Artists inspired the students through the ramp song and Gitadu. Almost 200 students of the college participated and contributed with full zeal and enthusiasm in different activities and events organised in the college for making the whole programme a success.

The whole Programme was organised by Prof. Swarna Devi, Assistant Prof of Political Science (SVEEP Nodal Officer of the college), Dr Om Parkash, Assistant Prof. Sanskrit, and Dr. Swati Dutt, SVEEP members. Programme concluded with the Vote of thanks presented by Dr. Om Prakash, HOD, Sanskrit
