TA Soldier Missing in Anantnag

No Terror Link Found Yet; Search Continues, Missing Report Filed

Anantnag, Feb 02 : A Territorial Army (TA) soldier, who was on leave, has gone missing in the Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Sunday.

An official told news agency that the soldier, belonging to the 162 TA unit, was on a one-month leave and was supposed to return to duty. However, he went missing on the same day.

The missing soldier has been identified as Abid Hussain Bhat, son of Abdul Gani Bhat, from Kharpora Chittergul.

A police officer informed News agency that the search operation is underway. “So far, no terror connection has been found. A missing report has been registered,” he said. (KNO)
