
Pulwama, Oct 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Police reported the arrest of a terror associate in Pulwama, along with the recovery of 10 live grenades.
According to a statement from a police spokesperson to News agency on October 29, a joint checkpoint was established by the Pulwama Special Operations Group (SOG), 55RR, and the 182nd Battalion of the CRPF in the evening, following intelligence about a potential terror attack in Pulwama town.
During the operation, police stopped a scooter driven by Danish Bashir, a resident of Dangerpora in Pulwama. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered 10 live grenades and five batteries, which were carefully wrapped and hidden under the seat of the scooter.
The police have registered a case under FIR number 224/2024, charging him under sections 18 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the ¾ Explosives Act.
The suspect has been detained, and authorities indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with further arrests anticipated.__KNO
