
Srinagar, Jan 31 : Around one lakh devotees from different parts of Kashmir gathered at the Hazratbal Shrine on Friday, following Meraj-ul-Aalam (SAW), to take part in special prayers.
The large gathering reflected the deep faith and devotion of the people, who came to seek blessings on this sacred occasion.
As per details received by News agency, devotees, including men, women, and the elderly, started arriving at the shrine from the early morning hours.
After the Friday prayers, the holy relic, believed to belong to Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was displayed, creating an emotional atmosphere. Many worshippers broke into tears, lifting their hands in prayer, deeply moved by the moment.
Ghulam Ahmad, an elderly devotee from Baramulla, said that visiting Hazratbal on this occasion fills his heart with peace. “Seeing the holy relic is a spiritual experience that cannot be described in words,” he expressed while wiping his tears.
Throughout the day, the shrine echoed with the recitation of Quranic verses, Darood, and Naats, as thousands engaged in prayers, seeking forgiveness and guidance. Religious scholars and clerics also delivered sermons, highlighting the significance of Meraj-ul-Aalam and the lessons from the Prophet’s (PBUH) journey.
Wahid Bhat, a visitor from Tral, shared that he makes sure to visit Hazratbal every year on this day. “It is a blessed occasion, and witnessing the holy relic strengthens our faith,” he said.
Authorities had made special arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of prayers. Security personnel were stationed around the shrine, and traffic plans were implemented to facilitate the movement of devotees, an official said._KNO
