Srinagar, April 12: A tragic accident took place in the Vodhpora area of Handwara, located in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, where a college bus overturned, resulting in the death of a female student and injuries to 23 others.
According to officials, the bus was carrying college students when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to flip over. The accident shocked the entire area, and local residents, along with emergency teams, quickly reached the spot to carry out rescue operations.
The injured students were immediately taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that one female student succumbed to her injuries, while many others are undergoing treatment for various wounds. A few of the injured are said to be in critical condition.Police have taken note of the incident and registered a case.
An investigation has been started to find out the exact reason behind the accident.
