Jammu, August 14 (BANN): An Army officer was killed in an encounter with militants in the Akar Forest area of Doda on Wednesday.
According to official sources, Captain Deepak led his team from the front, providing critical guidance in the mission to neutralize the militants.
However, during the exchange of gunfire, Captain Deepak sustained severe injuries from the terrorists’ bullets. Despite being swiftly taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, making the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
“Captain Deepak led from the front and was the third in line behind the scouts when the search operation began,” a senior officer told that. “He engaged the terrorist group both last night and again this morning. Despite his gunshot wounds, he continued to command his team as long as he was able.”
The search operation in the area is still ongoing at the time of this report.
