Over 25.78 lakh voters to cast their vote at 3,502 polling stations

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: Polling for the second phase of the 2024 Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections commenced today in 26 Assembly Constituencies across six districts in both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
The voting process began at 7:00 AM at all 3,502 polling stations.The districts involved in this phase include Ganderbal, Srinagar, and Budgam in the Kashmir Division, as well as Reasi, Rajouri, and Poonch in the Jammu Division. Prior to the commencement of polling, mock drills were conducted to ensure a smooth process at all polling stations.From the early morning hours, long queues of voters were seen at polling stations, eager to exercise their democratic right.
In total, 25,78,099 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in this phase, comprising 13,12,730 male voters, 12,65,316 female voters, and 53 third-gender voters.This phase of the elections will decide the fate of 239 candidates contesting for the Assembly seats.
To ensure free, fair, and transparent elections, district administrations in all six districts have implemented comprehensive security and logistical arrangements at polling stations.(BANN)
