
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01: The District Election Office (DEO) Srinagar organized a comprehensive training program for Counting Supervisors, Assistants, and Micro-Observers on Tuesday. These individuals will be responsible for counting Postal Votes in Srinagar on October 08, 2024 (Tuesday).
The training, directed by District Election Officer Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, took place at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex. Master Trainers led the session, aiming to equip the staff with the skills required for efficiently handling the counting of Postal Votes in Srinagar’s eight Assembly Constituencies.
During the session, participants were instructed on the correct procedures and safety measures to follow while counting Postal Votes. Additionally, they received guidance on managing emergencies, maintaining order, and ensuring security and privacy during the process.
Training Coordinator, Dr. Manzoor Reshi, emphasized the importance of adhering to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) established rules for counting Postal Votes in Srinagar.
A mock exercise was conducted, dividing participants into groups to simulate the counting of Postal Votes and ETBPS. The exercise provided a clear understanding of the entire counting process.
Participants were also reminded of the importance of conducting the count in a free and fair manner, in line with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in force in the district.
