
Srinagar, October 25: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended a revenue officer in Kathua district for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe of Rs 10,000.
As per a statement provided to News agency , CBI had registered a case on Wednesday against a Patwari accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant to process a land mutation for the complainant’s newly acquired property.
The CBI reportedly set a trap, capturing the Patwari in the act of receiving the bribe.
“On Thursday, the accused was presented in court, which ordered a 12-day judicial custody. Additionally, CBI searched the accused’s residence,” the statement noted—(KNO)
