
Over 2 Lakh Students Set to Appear in 10th, 12th Exams Tomorrow
Srinagar, Feb 14: After a 50-day winter break, colleges in the Kashmir valley are scheduled to resume academic activities from Saturday.
On December 20, 2024, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department announced winter vacations for 50 days for degree colleges located in the winter zones of the Kashmir division.
The government specified that degree colleges in Kashmir Division and those in the winter zone of Jammu Division would observe winter break from December 27, 2024, to February 14, 2025.
Additionally, for colleges in the summer zones of the Jammu region, the winter break was scheduled from January 1 to January 10, 2025.
Meanwhile, more than 2 lakh students from classes 10 and 12 are preparing to sit for the annual board exams.
Notably, schools in the Kashmir division and winter zones of the Jammu division are set to reopen on March 1. As per the phased winter vacation schedule from the School Education Department, students up to 5th standard are on vacation from December 10 to February 28, 2025. For students from 6th to 12th standard, vacations began on December 16 and will continue until February 28, 2025.
Moreover, the department has directed that teaching staff of Government High and Higher Secondary Schools must be present at their respective headquarters from February 10, 2025, onwards to make necessary preparations for the upcoming Board Examinations for classes 10, 11, and 12. —(KNO)
