Urges Officers to Propose Key Development Projects Under the Initiative

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 17 (BANN) : To assess the progress and execution of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) scheme in Kupwara district, Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan convened a meeting with officials on Monday. The focus was on identifying and preparing impactful projects under the scheme.
The PMJVK is a centrally sponsored program initiated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Its goal is to enhance infrastructure in areas with significant minority populations. The scheme seeks to uplift the socio-economic status of these communities by developing community infrastructure and improving access to basic amenities, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to identify and prioritize works that can be implemented under the PMJVK scheme. She emphasized the need to propose construction of buildings for Anganwadi Centres, Health Centres, and Schools currently operating from rented premises or in poor condition. Additionally, she stressed the importance of developing sports infrastructure, such as Indoor Stadiums, to promote athletic activities in the district.
Ayushi Sudan also urged the officers to ensure balanced development across all blocks of the district while recommending projects, ensuring widespread benefits for the population.
The meeting included in-depth discussions on various sectors that could be developed under the scheme for public welfare. Proposals such as equipping Sub District Hospitals with advanced medical technology and promoting skill development initiatives were also considered.
The session was attended by officials including the Programme Officer ICDS Kupwara, District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Planning Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Block Development Officers, and other key stakeholders.
