Doda, Dec 29 : The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of PMGSY Division Doda has been suspended for failing to perform his duties during the ongoing snowfall, which has severely impacted rural road infrastructure.
The suspension followed a thorough inquiry that revealed the official had left his station without proper authorization and did not return despite worsening weather conditions.
The district administration had instructed all officials to remain in Doda to monitor and prioritize road clearance. However, the AEE’s casual attitude during this critical period was considered a serious dereliction of duty, especially when the administrative machinery was already stretched thin in providing relief to the public.
Pending an inquiry into his conduct by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Raj Kumar has been placed under suspension and will remain attached to the ADC’s office. He will be assigned to the 24X7 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at the DC office, Doda, until further notice.
In the interim, Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer of PWD, Doda, and Umar Jan, Assistant Engineer of PWD Bhagwah, will temporarily oversee the work of the PMGSY Sub Divisions in Doda and Bhagwah, in addition to their own responsibilities.
