Budgam, August 23: The initial randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the 2024 Assembly Elections was successfully carried out today in Budgam, following the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The procedure took place under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Akshay Labroo IAS, and was attended by Returning Officers (ROs) from all Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in Budgam, as well as representatives from both national and state-recognized political parties.
The randomization was performed using the EMS Software/Portal of the ECI. During the event, lists of the randomized Control Units (CUs), Ballot Units (BUs), and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) were distributed to the political party representatives in attendance. The entire process was recorded on video as per ECI guidelines.
