Groom Stabbed at Wedding in Shopian’s Rakhama, Leaves Ceremony in Tragedy

Shopian, Aug 24: A wedding celebration in South Kashmir’s Shopian district took a tragic turn when the groom was attacked with a sharp weapon on Saturday, according to officials.

An official informed the Kashmir Bulletin that the joyful occasion in Rakhama, Shopian, was marred by the incident, where the groom was assaulted with a knife late Saturday evening.

The groom, identified as Mubashir Ahmad Naikoo, son of Bashir Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of Rakhama, Shopian, was immediately rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, his condition is reported to be stable. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.—(KB)
