
Srinagar, Feb 10 : Several higher regions, including Sonamarg and Doodhpathri, received fresh snowfall on Monday. The weather department has predicted light snowfall in some isolated higher areas tomorrow.
According to news agency , snowfall was recorded in Doodhpathri, Sonamarg, Zojila Pass, Z Gali, Yusmarg, Peer Ki Gali, and Sinthan Top.
By this evening, Doodhpathri had received 4-6 inches of snow, while Sonamarg recorded 4 inches. Zojila Pass saw 6 inches, Z Gali 5 inches, Yusmarg 4 inches, Peer Ki Gali 2 inches, and Sinthan Top 4 inches.
Light rain was also reported in some plain areas of north Kashmir.
Independent weather forecaster Aadil Maqbool stated that no significant weather changes are expected until February 15.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department (MeT), said that the weather will mostly remain dry, with a chance of light snowfall in some higher areas tomorrow.
He added that from February 12 to 14, the weather is expected to stay dry. On February 15 and 16, the sky will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of light rain and snow in some places.
On February 17, the weather will remain dry, while on February 18 and 19, some areas may see light rain or snow under generally cloudy conditions. (KNO)
