Gunfight Erupts in Khushal Tangdhar, Kupwara

Kupwara, Aug 28 (BANN): A gunfight has erupted in the Khushal Tangdhar area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials reported on Wednesday.

According to an official speaking to News agency, the encounter began between militants and security forces in Tangdhar, Kupwara.

The official mentioned that the security forces, acting on a tip-off about the presence of suspected militants in the area, initiated a cordon, which escalated into an exchange of gunfire.

He further stated that the area has been secured, and the encounter is still in progress. —(KB)
