Khanyar Encounter: Militant Killed, Search Operation Continues

Srinagar, November 2 : A militant was killed on Saturday in an ongoing gunfight in the Khanyar area of Srinagar, Central Kashmir.

According to a senior police official, the identity of the deceased militant is still unconfirmed, as his body remains under debris near the encounter site.

Earlier, a joint team moved towards a location based on intelligence inputs when militants in hiding opened fire, sparking the encounter.

During the exchange, two personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and two from the Special Operations Group (SOG) sustained injuries.

The operation was still in progress at the time of this report.
