
BUDGAM, OCTOBER 18 (BANN NEWS ): Er Rashid, Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramulla, visited Budgam district on Friday to evaluate ongoing development projects and address the primary concerns of constituencies within his parliamentary jurisdiction.
Accompanied by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo, along with other officials, Er Rashid reviewed the progress of various infrastructure initiatives, urging for their swift completion. He stressed the importance of removing obstacles to ensure timely delivery of public services and benefit the local population.
During his visit, Er Rashid inspected the District Hospital Budgam, engaging with medical professionals and patients to evaluate the hospital’s infrastructure and service quality. He later visited Beerwah Hospital, where he allocated funds to procure a laparoscopy machine and establish an oxygen refill plant, aimed at improving medical services in the area.
In a subsequent meeting with the Geology and Mining Department, Er Rashid discussed sustainable resource management, highlighting the need to regulate mining activities to protect the environment. He emphasized monitoring illegal mining and explored the potential for local industries based on mineral resources, which could create jobs and boost the local economy.
Later, the MP convened a session with the Rural Development Department to assess the progress of ongoing rural schemes. He sanctioned Rs 30 lakhs for installing lights in rural areas, aiming to enhance public safety and infrastructure. Additionally, he approved 30% of material components for various development projects to ensure resource availability for timely execution.
Er Rashid also emphasized the need for accelerated implementation of rural infrastructure projects, including roads, water supply, and sanitation. He highlighted the importance of inclusive development, ensuring that government schemes like MGNREGA reach even the most remote areas, generating employment and supporting the local agrarian economy.__BANN
