
New Delhi, December 18 (BANN): Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has expressed profound grief over the tragic fire incident in Kathua district that claimed six lives, including two minors, and left four others injured.
In a message of condolence, the Chief Minister described the incident as deeply distressing and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. “The loss of six precious lives in this unfortunate event is devastating. I pray for eternal peace for the departed souls and wish a swift recovery for the injured,” he stated.
The tragic incident occurred early Wednesday morning in a rented house, where the victims reportedly died due to suffocation caused by the fire. Those injured were rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Kathua and are receiving treatment.
Omar Abdullah assured that the best medical facilities are being provided to the injured. “I have instructed the concerned authorities to ensure that the injured are given top-notch medical care for their speedy recovery,” he said, adding that his prayers are with the grieving families during this difficult time.
The Chief Minister also called for efforts to support the affected families and expressed hope for their strength and resilience in facing this tragedy.
