
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16 (BANN): Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, conducted a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arfeen, Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom (R.A) in the Makhdoom Sahab area to review the arrangements being made for the upcoming Urs celebration.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts to ensure comprehensive preparations for the event, which is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across Kashmir. Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat assessed key aspects of the arrangements, including water supply, electricity, traffic management, crowd control, sanitation, and medical services.
During the visit, the DC engaged with members of the Auqaf Committee, local residents, and officials from the administration to discuss the final preparations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness around the shrine and directed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to take necessary actions to ensure hygiene. Additionally, the Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to provide an uninterrupted power supply during the Urs, while medical teams were to be deployed to cater to any health-related needs.
Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat stated, “Our primary focus is the safety and comfort of the devotees. We are committed to making sure that all arrangements are in place for a smooth and peaceful observance of Urs.” He also highlighted the spiritual importance of the shrine and assured that all efforts were being made to provide the best possible facilities for devotees.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the preparations but stressed the need for continuous vigilance and cooperation among all departments involved. He urged the concerned officials to promptly address any remaining issues and maintain a high level of readiness throughout the event.
The visit concluded with a walkthrough of the shrine, where Dr. Bilal interacted with devotees to gather their feedback on the preparations. He assured them that their concerns would be addressed and encouraged their cooperation to ensure the success of the Urs.BANN
