
Srinagar, Nov 12 : A gunfight broke out on Tuesday morning between security forces and militants in the Nagmarg forest area of north Kashmir.
According to officials, the clash started when joint security teams initiated a search operation in the forest area. As the search team advanced towards a suspected location, militants hiding in the area opened fire, which was met with retaliation, sparking the encounter,
Intermittent gunfire was still ongoing at the time of this report.
It is worth noting that this is the fifth encounter in North Kashmir, following recent incidents in Bandipora, Kupwara, and Sopore areas.
