SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has praised the people for the impressive voter turnout in the first phase of the 2024 Assembly Elections. In a social media post, he acknowledged that the active participation of the electorate reflects the strength of Indian democracy and the trust people place in democratic principles.
In his post on X, the Lieutenant Governor stated:
“Congratulations to the people of J&K for a remarkable voter turnout! I extend my thanks to all who cast their votes in the 1st phase. The record turnout in this peaceful, free, and fair election is a testament to the strength of Indian democracy and the people’s belief in democratic values.
I especially want to commend all the women and first-time voters for their significant participation in this celebration of democracy. A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional security forces, JKP, and election officials. With nearly 59% polling in the first phase, democracy is thriving in J&K. The long lines of voters in areas like Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag have dispelled the misleading propaganda of adversaries. The public has also rejected divisive agendas and reaffirmed their commitment to democracy.(BANN)
