19/Sep/ 2024 : Today, many areas across the Kashmir region are expected to witness mostly cloudy conditions. However, some parts of north Kashmir, especially around Kupwara, may experience periods of sunshine amidst the clouds. This partial clearing could provide brief moments of sunlight before the skies cloud over again.
In the higher reaches of the region, particularly in the Kargil and Leh districts, light to moderate snowfall is anticipated. Alongside these areas, the extreme upper elevations of south Kashmir, including some parts of the Ganderbal district, might also witness snow showers. These snowfall events may vary in intensity, but overall, they are expected to remain light to moderate.
For the plains and lower regions, there is a possibility of scattered rain showers, mainly in the Jammu region. The areas with the highest likelihood of rain include Doda and Kishtwar districts. Similar weather conditions could also occur in parts of the Kashmir Valley, where the southern districts are most likely to receive intermittent rain showers. These rain events might be short-lived but could occur sporadically throughout the day.
Looking ahead, the weather is predicted to remain predominantly dry from September 20th to 25th, providing a break from the recent cloudy and unsettled conditions. (KW)
