
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 24 (BANN): The wetlands of Pampore have recently become a haven for thousands of migratory birds, creating a stunning natural spectacle that has captivated wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists. This influx of avian visitors underscores the ecological significance of the area and has spurred efforts to develop Chatlam into a leading eco-tourism destination.
During a recent inspection of the development projects at the Pampore wetlands, Regional Wildlife Warden Tawheed Ahmad Deva highlighted the importance of this initiative. “The arrival of these migratory birds showcases the ecological wealth of our wetlands,” he remarked. “By transforming Chatlam into an eco-tourism hub, we aim to promote conservation while offering visitors a chance to experience this natural wonder firsthand.”
Deva further emphasized that the eco-tourism development would not only safeguard wildlife but also bolster the local economy. The Pampore wetlands are a vital habitat for a diverse range of bird species, drawing ornithologists and nature enthusiasts from various regions.

During his visit, the Regional Wildlife Warden was accompanied by officials from the Forest, Wildlife, and Forest Protection Force, as well as local community members and NGOs Nazir Benazir and Advocate Nadeem Qadiri.
