Srinagar — The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has issued a “breach of privilege” notice to PDP legislative party leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, giving him seven days to respond. This notice stems from his speech in the House earlier this month.
Para, a first-time legislator, faces accusations from National Conference MLA Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi. Gurezi claims that Para made allegations and used derogatory remarks during his speech on the Motion of Thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address on November 8, 2024.
Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad, under-secretary in the J&K legislative assembly secretariat, stated that the Speaker has requested Para’s comments on the matter before proceeding further. Para has been asked to submit his response within seven days for it to be reviewed by the Speaker.__PTI
