Srinagar, Jan 02 : Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, addressed several key issues today, including the Kashmir dispute, recruitment transparency, and the potential for providing free electricity to residents.
During an open interaction session, Abdullah emphasized the unresolved nature of the Kashmir issue, noting that even if one side claims resolution, the situation across the Line of Control (LoC) remains unchanged. He highlighted the need for comprehensive discussions involving both sides of the border to achieve a lasting solution.
On the topic of recruitment in the Fire and Emergency Services, Abdullah advocated for a transparent process. He called for a detailed report to ensure that all eligible candidates receive their due opportunities. He stressed the importance of accountability and fairness in the recruitment process, urging for any irregularities to be promptly addressed.
Abdullah also touched upon the proposal to provide 200 units of free electricity to residents. He stated that this would only be feasible with the implementation of 100% metering. He underscored the necessity of an efficient system to monitor electricity consumption before such a policy could be enacted.
These remarks were made during a candid interaction session, reflecting Abdullah’s commitment to addressing pressing issues in Jammu and Kashmir.__(JKNS)
